God Has Some Nerve!

I believe that in this Christian journey we seek the inspiration of scripture every step of the way.  Leaving scripture behind is the same as going on a long hike with no water or no opportunity for food.  But when I say that God has some nerve, I am referring to the audacity to tell your creation you have to wait but please enjoy.  

Rom 12:12 is significant because it is clear that the goal has not been reached, the mission is not complete and it is also clear that there have been clear obstacles on the journey.  Yet in the midst of this frustration that life can bring, God gives us a formula by which to maneuver it.  Don’t just have hope, but be joyful in the hope.  What?  Even though my journey is plagued with challenges, I should still hope for the finish line and enjoy the challenges?  Really?  Or even in the afflictions that I face in this march towards glory, I should be patient with them, endure to the end.  Oh and then, keep praying.  Really? 

 Even though the obstacle is not being moved, I still need to keep praying.  God has some nerve.  But I understand, it is narrowed down to these two words – Don’t Quit!  In the challenge of the moment where things do not go as they should, do not throw in the towel and resort to old destructive habits and quit.  But be steadfast in the task, let’s bring our joy, our patience and our faithfulness to the journey.  Keep in mind, that God never relieved Christ of the Cross.  So shall we not be relieved of ours.  Be Encouraged!
