Tithing, the act of giving a portion of one's income to support the work of the church, holds significant importance in the Christian faith. Rooted in biblical principles, tithing serves as a tangible expression of gratitude, obedience, and stewardship.
The Bible teaches us in Malachi 3:10, "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the Lord Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it." This verse highlights God's promise to bless those who faithfully tithe.
But where does the money go when we tithe? And why does it matter?
At Peoples Institutional Baptist Church, our tithes go towards the support of the ministry, the relief of the poor and the spread of the gospel both locally and abroad.
Tithing isn't merely a financial obligation; it's a meaningful act of participation in advancing God's kingdom. Through our faithful giving, we actively propel forward the mission and ministry of the church. Moreover, it reflects our commitment to biblical stewardship and demonstrates our trust in God's provision. Ultimately, by embracing this practice of obedience and generosity, we position ourselves to experience the abundant blessings promised by God.
